This is a traditional wooden sailing yacht, 46ft overall, and ketch rigged. She has a beautiful clipper bow and bowsprit, with teak decks running aft. The spacious cockpit is enclosed by an ornamented stern taffrail that is mounted over traditional counter stern. The forward cabin top has resort cushions and pillows perfect for sunbathing or relaxing. 6 people maximum, hourly, half or all day sail to Malibu, overnight and 3 day trips to Catalina Island. STCW-95 and TWIC. He is also certified by the American Red Cross in C.P.R. and First Aid. Remains Disposal License CRD#1032 and CYBA licensed Yacht Salesman. Captain Mack founded Mariner Sailing Charters in 2004. 20 years of taking people sailing! Captain Mack born in 1963 grew up in a sailing family, based in Marina del Rey. He has lifelong sailing experience in the waters of Southern California beginning with his first solo sail in an 8’ Sabot dinghy at age 3. His family sailed to Catalina Island almost every weekend and on longer winter vacations to the all of the different Channel Islands, and sometimes down into Baja Mexico. During his career, Capt. Mack has operated many types of vessels that were in his care as Captain and yacht maintenance professional. He has experience on large motor-vessels and sailing yachts, small catamarans and runabouts.Capt Mack has owned Mack's Yacht Services a full service yacht maintenance and management company for over 35 years! Capt Mack is an expert in yacht Electronics, Electrical, Plumbing, Sailboat Rigging, Painting and Varnishing, equipment installations, fiberglass epoxy repair and bottom painting. Top to bottom he makes sure a boat is safe for sea whether that be his customers boat or his own on which you shall be voyaging! He is a proficient and an experienced safe navigator. He has done 1000+ mile deliveries bringing boats back safely from deep in Mexico. He has intimate understanding of weather and sea conditions and extensive knowledge of the Southern California and Baja Coast including the beautiful offshore Catalina and Channel Islands. What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
